Making a Difference One Dress at a Time!

On January 18th, our congregation blessed 50 dresses sewn by our Wesley United Women in Faith for a non-profit organization “Dress A Girl Around the World. Thirteen women participated in this fifth sewing drive, bringing the total number of dresses completed by this ministry since 2022 to 254.
These latest dresses will be sent to girls living in impoverished conditions in Zambia and Malawi. Our hope is that these gifts provide more than just clothing; we pray they offer the girls the opportunity to dream and flourish while being protected from harm; to also let them know that they are worthy of respect, loved and cared about.
This is an example of how our United Women in Faith moves from spiritual reflection to tangible works of service and advocacy. It truly demonstrates our motto that “love in action can change the world,” even if it is just one dress at a time.
