Com(e)passion Sunday coming March 31st
Sunday, March 31 is a morning for hands-on service projects for all ages and abilities. Wesley's Com(e)passion Team wants everyone to experience how easy it is to serve the community and has prepared a great menu of projects that will give you a chance to be involved. You can assemble Blessing Bags in the Fellowship Hall with Carmina and Marlette or make scarves and blankets with Misao and Betty in the Chapel. You can help make a meal for Casa de Clara in the Kitchen or write letters and prepare care packages with Clarissa in the Conference Room. Our Girl Scouts will be there making lunch for St. James Park. You can make cards for shut-ins with Rev. Hajime. Our CAF youth will be helping our God's Garden children recycle crayons for Children's Hospitals and decorating placemats for our Grace Baptist homeless ministry. And the UMW is making a lunch for all our volunteers.
For those willing to venture off-site, you can do yard work at Casa de Clara, a Catholic worker run transitional housing community. You can work with Warren and Trinity at Taylor Street Farm, an organic educational non-profit on Taylor Street near Highway 87. And our MYF youth will join Carl at Casa de Clara for an arts & crafts project. We are also working to add projects at CityTeam and Casa de Clara's homeless ministry.
So come dressed to work after our 20 minute worship starting at 10:00 am. Projects run from 10:30 to noon. Then stay after your project for our celebration lunch where people will share what they did to minister to others on Com(e)passion Sunday! There will be afternoon projects as well. You can register for your project(s) online at ttsu.me/comepassionsunday2019 or phone the church office at 408-295-0367. For more information, contact Aton Abril or Mary Leano.
