As a Reconciling Congregation, Wesley welcomes into the full life of the church all persons regardless of age, ethnicity, economic circumstance, gender identity and sexual orientation.
To celebrate this important day, our Reconciling Committee, led by Wayne Kamiya, has lined up several speakers to share their life’s journey. We will also again have special music from 88 Keys Choir and the Wesley Choir. It will be a day of joy, reflection, and looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities facing our denomination in the wake of the upcoming special General Conference on A Way Forward coming next month in St. Louis, Missouri.
During fellowship time, we will again have our much loved and simply delicious fundraising Bake Sale with all proceeds going to Reconciling Ministries Network, the advocacy group working to make our denomination more inclusive of LGBTQ persons. This is a great day to invite your friends to experience Wesley!
An old-fashioned Bake Sale
You have been so generous over the years with your scrumptious baked goodies and the Reconciling Committee is once again asking for your HELP. We’re asking you to donate baked items, sweet or savory, which will be sold during the fellowship time to support Reconciling Ministry Network, the social justice group that assisted us in our movement. Anything homemade—cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, salsa and chips— that you are able to donate, is welcome. Mmmmm! And all sooo delicious! Please bring them to the Fellowship Hall Sunday morning prior to the worship service. We whole-heartedly thank you for your support. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
