Zephyr Pt. Lake Tahoe Fellowship Retreat

The 39th NCJCCF Lake Tahoe Fellowship (LTF) Retreat will again be held at Zephyr Point, Lake Tahoe, July 23-27.   It is a scenic and peaceful lake side location ideal for relaxation and spiritual renewal. Last year, we had 49 attendees and we anticipate more this year!

This years guest speaker will be Rev. John Oda.  Rev. Oda is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and currently the pastor at Lake Park United Methodist Church in Oakland California.  He holds a Masters of Social Work from University of California at Berkeley and a Masters of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

He is currently serving on the National Board of PFLAG (formerly known as Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays).  He is a member of the Board of Ordained Ministry in the California Nevada Annual Conference, the current Chair of the National Japanese American United Methodist Clergy Caucus, Circuit Leader for the AO Circuit and Co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of PFLAG.

The theme for 2018 LTF will be “Planted by God.”  As a novice gardener, Rev. Oda has always loved to plant vegetables in the summer. Seeing his garden grow reminds him so much about one’s spiritual life - the need for good soil to start a good garden, the importance of strong roots, keeping the weeds at bay and harvesting the fruit.

Registration deadline is March 16, 2018.
