There are two programs at Wesley Church for preparing meals for the homeless.
We can all recall the loving feelings when someone made a homemade meal for us. This gesture will brighten the spirits of many less fortunate, but our church volunteer cooks often say that they feel as blessed to serve.
Wednesdays are Wesley's
Every Wednesday afternoon, Wesley volunteers prepare dinner in our church kitchen for 35-60, then serve at Grace Baptist Church, as part of the Winter Faith Collaborative (WFC) effort of downtown San Jose churches to provide meals and shelter for the homeless during the winter. If you would like to help plan a meal of just come to help cook, you may sign up at <ttsu.me/gracebaptist2018> or contact Roy Takeuchi <email@example.com> or Mary Leano <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
One Sunday/month at St.James Park
On the last Sunday of each month all year-round, church volunteers meet at 11:45am in the patio to take hot meals or sandwich-makings to St. James Park downtown to share with homeless friends. You are invited to help! Contact Mary Leano or see her after worship service.
All expenses of our homeless meal programs are reimbursed from our Share Our Substance (SOS) Fund. Thank you to all who give to our SOS Fund, and to all who volunteer to cook and serve.
