On Saturday, October 1, the Japantown Community Congress of San Jose (JCCsj) will hold their annual Spirit of Japantown. Activities will run from 10am to 5pm and will be held in an 8-block area surrounding the heart of Japantown - 5th and Jackson Streets. As in previous years, you'll enjoy arts and crafts, car exhibitions, fresh produce and plants, antiques and fine arts, food, kids' activities, entertainment and more! Also, be sure to catch Wesley's own Wesley Jazz Ensemble performance on the festival’s main “Spirit” stage. And speaking of music and cultural performances, Wesley UMC is the Official Sponsor of the “Spirit of Hawaii” stage, which will be set up between our church and the new museum on 5th Street. The Wesley Ukulele Band will be one of the performers on this stage, along with hula dancing and other Hawaiian performers. Wesley will host the Midori Bonsai Club annual plant show in the Fellowship Hall and will open our sanctuary and chapel for an Open House so that visitors may enter the church, read about Wesley and its many activities and ministries. If you have questions there will be hosts to assist you. We hope that you'll have a chance to visit our church! If you attend Wesley and would like to help, there are a number of ways in which you may participate. Wesley will be hosting the "Spirit of Hawaii" Stage. We also will be conducting tours of our Chapel and Sanctuary and need people to help answer questions that drop-in visitors might have. If you can help run the sound system at the stage or answer questions then call the office at (408) 295-0367 right away! Your participation is the key to our success at Spirit of Japantown! For
