Call for Nisei Soldiers from Manzanar or Rowher

Is there a 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd RCT, Military Intelligence Service (MIS) veteran in your family that was in the Rohwer or Manzanar incarceration camp during WWII?

The National Veterans Network and National Museum of the United States Army are seeking Japanese American WWII Nisei soldiers who volunteered, drafted, or had families in Rohwer or Manzanar for the Soldiers from the Camp digital kiosk that will be part of the U.S. Army’s new traveling exhibit, I Am An American: the Nisei Soldier Experience.

The National Museum of the United States Army, National Veterans Network and Army Historical Foundation will launch a 11-city “I Am An American: the Nisei Soldier Experience” traveling exhibit in 2026 for a five year national tour.

To be considered, photos of their camp experience and military service are required. We also welcome artifacts associated with their camp or military experience.
